megan & pete {san francisco photographer}

Megan is one of the best souls you’ll meet. She is so effervescent and Pete is calm and collected. Ying and Yang…in all good ways! I am lucky to call Megan a friend and colleague through photography. She is the awesome talent behind Break the Mold Photography and I was absolutely tickled when she asked me to take Christmas photos of her and Pete and their munchkin Simon!

Megan and Pete have this awesome tradition! They have photos taken at Christmas time every year by different photographers! What an awesome way to spread the love AND what a way to experience different photographers and different styles. I just loved the idea!

Megan is super crafty. I love crafting…but she is a rockstar. They made the adorable popcorn garland AND those are all actual presents that Megan brought out from under the Christmas tree! I tried my hand at Kraft paper wrapping and it looked rather sketchy. Lol! I had such a blast on this session and loved getting to spend the time capturing another photographer who I just love and admire so much through MY camera! 😀

 LOVE these!!!! 😀

SO happy I got to see you three over the holidays! Thank you again! I was so honored to take these images for you! 😀

the ganancials {biltmore winter session}

This family…what is there to say? They were my FIRST paying client. Lei took a chance on me when it seemed absolutely no one would. I had never taken a picture for money before (unless I had someone WAY more experienced with me…and I was assisting) and she asked me to take pictures of Sebby’s Christening. :pressure: But this family has stuck with me! Its Lei & Raimund who prompted the Biltmore Winter Sessions and I couldn’t be more happy that they did! I’m ridiculously proud and in LOVE with these pictures.

A little backstory: I have taken pictures for this family for about the last 3 years. Yet I have NEVER taken a picture of just Lei & Raimund together. No Sebby…just the two of them. It had never happened. I noticed this during my first session. “Crap!” I thought to myself. I didn’t get a picture of Lei & Raimund together, just the two of them. But soon I realized that thats just not how they roll. They are 100% a family of 3 and to not have Sebby in the picture seemed…odd. But little guy had a different plan during the Biltmore sessions. It was coooold to say the least. Once we were done taking our nice family pictures in front of the house we strapped Seb in his stroller and headed over to the Library Terrace. :mistake…or was it?: Sebby was so toasty and warm that he absolutely did not want to get out and away from the blanket. We tried…let me tell you. But it just wasn’t going to happen. So I used this time and make it a couple shoot. There were plenty of giggles to start, but soon, man! I couldn’t stop taking pictures! I stopped directing and just let them do what was natural. These pictures just capture my heart. 🙂

Obsessed. Seriously.

I was thrilled to meet up with Olivia and Jessica for their super cute and fun session!! Its February, cold, dreary and oh so windy, but hey, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a crazy awesome session! Little Miss Olivia was what I needed in this down time! She was soooo insanely cute and fun and just so bubbly!! Her mom told me that the last time they had pictures taken, Olivia just sat their and gave a scoul the whole time! Well, that definitely didn’t happen during out session! She was ready and WILLING to have her picture taken! We headed out to UT Arboretum for some fun! Luckily, this day was one of our few and far between sunny days! I think it actually got up to 57 degrees that day! 😀 Another photographer had shared with me a spot at the arboretum that I hadn’t ever shot at before, so I knew that I would want to take Olivia there! Man! Am I so happy I did!!!!
We decided to pick wheat and help with germination…lol! All Olivia’s words! She’s such a smarty!
I can’t get over this picture! I just love it!!!!
She had just so much spunk! The wheat in her hair was totally her idea!
We decided to end this super awesome session in one of my favorite areas of the park! I just let Olivia do her thing! She was seriously the cutest!
I had such a blast with Olivia, Jessica and Eva! You guys were SO much fun and just what I needed!!

Lucas is One

You may remember these amazing blue eyes and this adorable smile from Lucas’ 6 month session back in June and I was SO excited to see him again in November for his one year pictures! One year olds are probably my favorite! I love seeing kiddos try to walk and be so silly with their parents! They are getting their personalities and laugh WAY more than they cry (if they even do cry)!
I absolutely love anytime I get to see this family! Ashley does such a great job with ideas and outfits! They are just too cute!!!
This photo on the left kills me! Lucas kept doing this insanely adorable face during the entire session and Ashley said it was a new thing he had been doing. I called it his monkey face! 😀
LOVE the photo on the right!
This was so incredibly funny! Stephen was lifting Lucas up by his legs straight up into the air! Lucas was having a ball! Totally reminds me of the Lion King! Lol!!
This should be a canvas! 😀
So this next series had me absolutely rolling while I was editing! I just remembered how hard Lucas was laughing at his momma! Ashley was acting like she was going to get him and tickle him (notice her in the bottom corner) and Stephen was trying to get Lucas to walk to her and Lucas was just cracking up!!! I love editing when I get to remember the session and laugh just as hard as I did when I was there!
Love this adorable little man and his awesome family!!!!

The Moore’s Fall Session

The Moore’s…one of my FAVORITE families!! They are the cutest, sweetest, and wildest family! Well, really Finnley is the wild one, we all just kind of watch, laugh and occasionally tell him to not throw his brother’s hat into the creek…:D
I loved seeing Hollis again for his one year session! And since Kate, Rob and Finn all looked so adorable, I through them together for some pictures too! I hope you all love this adorable family session as much as I do!!! Is it weird if I put clients’ pictures in my own house???
Love him…
Is this not the cutest picture of Finnley??? I feel like he should be playing with Mumford and Sons. 😀
Such a ham!
Yes, that is Hollis biting his momma’s nose! Lol!
Love you guys to death!!!!

Amber and Jamie – The Clan

I had the absolute PLEASURE of photographing a old friend, her husband and her adorable pooch earlier this summer at Ijams Nature Center! I can remember the first time I ever met Amber. It was the summer before 4th grade and we had just moved into a new house. A whole gang of kids showed up at our front door and asked us to go ride bikes. 🙂 (Do kids even do things like this now-a-days?) I thought I would be cool and ride my bike up our driveway….and thought I was going to die at the end. Only those who know my parents driveway would get a chuckle out of that. Amber was the cool kid. The leader of the pack. And I wanted SO bad for her to think I was awesome…well, many many MANY years later, I was tickled pink when Amber contacted ME to capture her incredibly awesome family! 🙂 Does that make me cool? I think SO!
Amber and Jamie are the absolute cutest! Not only are they adorable (and so incredibly into each other) but their little puppers, Roxy is pretty stinking awesome as well. She really did steal the scene!
Amber wore the BEST shirt ever! Not only is it orange and white (LOVE) but its so bright and vibrant. Perfect for pictures!

See what I mean…she’s adorable!

I had such a blast with you three that (incredibly hot) summer evening!!! Lol! You all are so awesome!!!

Jack’s UT Session

What better way to celebrate UT’s first home football game than with the littlest Volunteer fan?? Jack and his parents are AWESOME Volunteer fans! And coincidentally, Jack’s birthday will probably always fall on the first football weekend for UT! Coincidence?? Maybe…or maybe Carla and Tony planned it that way! 🙂 Jack may be a future football star or maybe just a future VOLUNTEER, but either way, I know UT will have a big place in his life!
I absolutely love any chance I get to see this incredibly adorable family! So when I tossed the idea of a stadium session, I was so happy they jumped on board! Our goal was to be in the stadium, up in the seats, but we have come to find out that is a hit or miss with Neyland Stadium. Next time, we will make it happen! BUT who else can say they have had their pics in the halls of Neyland?? We were so stoked to get out of the crazy East TN heat for a few minutes and chow down on some cheerios!
And since it is the first home TN game for the 2012-2013 season, lets hear a resounding GBO!!
  How perfect is this picture??
Love love this family!!!
If you are interested in a session down on campus, make sure to book soon for the amazing fall colors! I would LOVE to do a session right in the middle of a BIG UT Home game…can’t you imagine? An adorable couple kissing in the crazy crowd of tail-gating UT Fan’s????

Little Man Lucas

This little guy, Lucas, and his parents are some of my absolute FAVS!!! When Ashley shot me a message saying she wanted some pictures of Little Man Lucas for his 6 months, I thought to myself “Its about TIME!!!” LOL! I did Ashley and Steven’s Bump Photos back in October and have been itching to meet Lucas ever since I saw those big blue eyes on Facebook! So Ashley, Steven, Lucas and I hit up Concord Park for a little fun in the shade! Let me just say that I have yet to meet a baby that wasn’t happy!! I don’t know what it is about a camera, but they just light up! Lucas probably takes the cake when it comes to big boy smiles and insane fits of giggles!
Seriously, little old man New Balances! I wanted to stick these in my bag so bad and make off with them!
I just absolutely love this image…especially in B&W. I don’t know what it is…but its so calming.
Lucas and his Momma…seriously, he was such a ham! It also helped that he is completely enamored with his Daddy and Steven did a great job keeping him entertained!!!
I LOVE when a dad plays with his kiddo!!!
I’m heading up to VA this weekend for a fun family birthday party and a 1 year session!!! So excited to see the family and finally chill out (or semi chill-out) for a weekend! Make sure to head back on Monday for an amazing engagement session that I had out in a little park in Oak Ridge! 🙂

Aidyn’s December

I can’t even begin to believe that it is New Year’s Eve..eve! 2011 has been a phenomenal year for me (however, I don’t think I couldn’t have topped how bad 2010 was). I’m engaged and planning the most important day of my life with the love of my life and couldn’t be happier! I kicked off my photography business and plan on expanding it for 2012 (updates coming right after the new year so keep an eye out!). I have a stable full time job, which is a far cry from last year. And 2011 has been a healthy year for the people I love (minus my broken foot). 2011, I will never forget you! And 2012…I can’t wait to meet you!
So now onto one of the cutest little baby girls ever! Meet Miss Aidyn (and her beautiful big blue eyes!) This little girl is not only loved by her awesome parents, but her big sis Addy is totally smitten with her too! They are both too adorable! Kim and Matt…congrats on the prettiest girls ever! 🙂
Is Aidyn not the happiest looking baby!?! Poor thing was even feeling sick that morning, but she showed up for her pictures! We couldn’t have asked for a better session!
Such an awesome moment between father and daughter!
Oh I would give anything for those eyelashes!!
Aidyn’s December

Sebby, a chair, and his awesome parents

December 12th…what?!? I am done with sessions until the end of the year (with one more to edit so keep an eye out) and I couldn’t be more proud. This year has been awesome to say the least. Especially since I got to see this little kiddo one more time! Sebby is now over a year old…I can’t even begin to believe it! I have literally been able to see him grow through my camera. 🙂
I had had this idea for Lei and Raimund that I really wanted to do a family session in a field. I even was lucky enough to score a chair from Something Borrowed to make the session even more awesome! I drove around for literally probably over an hour and 30 minutes trying to find a field that hadn’t been mowed. During my travels, I came to the conclusion that there needs to be a “Farmer’s Calendar” that all farmers stick to in regards to mowing…that way there are plenty of fields to choose from and I  know when they are/have been mowed. Who would have thought that there literally wasn’t ONE field that was nice and whispy!!!! But no, at least not within the Hardin Valley/Karns/Solway area. NONE…except for a field the size of my living room right next to an abandoned house. Seriously. I put a family with a small child in a field next to an abanonded house and barn. But hey…I will be going back here. This place is AWESOME! 🙂
Then a little handy dandyness came into play and I made a fun little banner for Sebby (which Lei snapped up before the end of the session! :))

I think this little kiddo is going to follow in his mom and dad’s footsteps.
Sebby is seriously the happiest baby EVER! If he gets fussy, its over in 2.5 seconds. Just enough for you to put all eyes on him and then he’s good! I even got some love during our session! 🙂

Ahhh…I seriously love this family so insanely much!
Stayed tuned around Christmas for a baby session I had involving Christmas lights, ornaments and a whole bunch of giggly smiles! 🙂
