keegan’s summer session

5 degrees, -1 degrees, warming up to 15 degrees. These are texts I’ve gotten over the last 48 hours (plus many many more) about that temperature back home in TN! Apparently, there is a cold snap running through the East Coast! 😉 I, on the other hand, am enjoying this incredibly beautiful 56 degree weather here at 2:30 in the afternoon! Ahhh…windows are open and happy to put on a light weight jacket and scarf (for looks). 😀 Happy to call San Francisco HOME!!! But, for my frost bitten friends back home, here is a super super cute and WARM session from earlier this summer!
I’ve photographed Miss Keegan quite a few times over the last year! She basically brightens my day every time I see her! This session was no dissapointment! It was the end of summer and Laura really wanted some pictures of Keegan before school (or preschool in her case) started! I wanted to do something different and something I haven’t done before, so I suggested a sprinkler session! I think its safe to say that it was a hit! This is definitely one of my all time favorites!

I love these  images of her curls. Keegan’s signature trait is her hair! She wasn’t even TWO in these pictures…but has the hair most of us 20-somethings DREAM about! Catching these adorable little locks represent innocence to me.

How stinking precious is she?!?!

I hope this session was a small little escape from the frigid temperatures if only for a minute or two!
And I hope to see the Randolph’s in 2014!!! 😀

Hollis 2 Years

This little guy has eye for days and is one of the sweetet heartbreakers out there! Hollis’ momma is one of my favorite people and I am absolutely THRILLED she asked me to take his 2 year pictures! Kate (from Kate Moore Creative) had the cutest idea to just have Hollis is his blue jeans (rolled up none-the-less), sandals and his hat. Talk about such a little country boy!! Ahhh! I just love it!
Introducing “Lamby”

Ahhh! My favorite from the day! Just love it!
Mr. Hollis realized that we were basically walking on a plethora of rocks, sticks and dirt…what country boy wouldn’t want to pick them up and put them in his pocket?!

So so so happy that I had the honor to snap these images for you Kate!!!
If you guys are interested in fun and creative prints for your home, check out Kate’s Etsy shop LiveLoveStudio or if you are wanting some handmade knitted loveliness check out her OTHER Etsy shop, WildandWondrous.
She is crazy talented! 😀

elijah 6 months {the clan}

This little boy seriously just lights up my day!!! I was SO excited when Sarah told me that she was thinking a little farm session for Elijah with a red wagon, hay bales, etc for his 6 month pictures! Seriously…how precious is that? Plus, anytime I get to spend with this family is always so relaxed and fun! They really are the sweetest family! 😀
A little country boy in overalls just doesn’t get much cuter than this!!!
This little guy is such a Dad’s man!!! He just loves Jason so much!
Love love love!!!!
I might have almost died when Sarah wanted to give him a “bath” outside!!! Ummm, yes please!! This was definitely my favorite shot from that series!!! Other sweet and adorable pictures were taken, but I don’t want to give any more ammo to Sarah and Jason for Elijah’s future wife by having his toosh on the internet!
I ended on this picture with the session because Mr. Elijah has the stinking cutest face ever!!! He looks so shocked and surprise that his momma is planting a kiss on him! Just loved it!
There are sessions and people that just make my heart happy! This is one of those sessions and one of those families!!! Love you all so much!

the kiddo | Quinn 1 yr

This little kiddo is just the cutest…she’s so dainty and precious and so incredibly sweet. I loved spending time with her and her parents, her adorable grandparents and of course her little Willie.
I love this series below…Shane was tickling Quinn and she went from standing upright to completely folding over and eventually laying on the ground while laughing…she’s adorable!!!
Lol!!! Love her little tongue…I wonder how many pictures she is sticking it out in this session! 😛
(I counted 7 just on the blog! Silly girl!)
Oh Quinn, you will break hearts my dear…and your mom and dad are going to spoil you rotten if they don’t already! 😀

So as you are reading this, I am on my way to Nashville for an awesome photography workshop help by two AMAZING industry professionals!!! I hope to come back with a fire under my tush to accomplish my 2013 goals (which I will share in a later post) and take this whole photography “thing” to another level. Its my passion and why shouldn’t I be happy and do this as much and as BIG as I can?!? So, more with that later! Now onto the awesome stuff…
This may be one of my favorite sessions and clients (I know I know…I say this every time, but my clients ROCK my socks off)!! When I received Sarah’s email I might have done a little happy dance at my computer!!! I had been FB and Pinterest stalking Sarah since her wedding that I shot with Jennie Andrews all the way back in 2010!!! I was just absolutely BLOWN away that she would ask me to do her newborn session!! So baby watch began…and ended rather soon! Before I knew it, I was sending an email just checking in and Elijah had been born the day before (so maybe my stalking skills are not up to par). Since it was December and chilly (or freezing) we decided to do the session at home! I love love LOVE home sessions! Especially newborn home sessions. Everyone is comfy, everything that baby needs is right there, and if you are to ever have pictures taken in your home, it should be with a new addition to the family! Eeek! Be prepared to Oohhhh and Aaaahhhh! I know I did countless times while taking these pictures, editing them and then again when choosing which ones to blog! 😀
I came in to a sleepy baby (which is my favorite) and he was just soooo stinking cute! I soon found that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and Elijah definitely takes after his Dad, Jason in height! He’s SOOO long!!!!
Look at those cheeks!
I think babies with one sock is mandatory. Two socks is not cute, one sock…PERFECT!
Omgsh…just melts my heart how Jason looks at Elijah!!!
Sarah is little miss crafty! She not only made these adorable letters, but she also showed me all kinds of other adorable things….like a growth chart that goes all the way up to 7ft! Lol!!! Hey, you never with this kiddos’ genes!
LOVE all the orange details!!! The awesome mobile is from Africa when Sarah went and did mission work last year and the type writer is a present from a friend. LOVE details in a nursery!!!!
Ok, maybe this one is my favorite…I seriously just can’t get over it!
Seriously, seriously?!?! No, this one is my fav of the day! 😀
Sarah, Jason and of course Elijah, thank you SO much for inviting me into your “temporary” home and taking these images of Elijah! I hope you cherish them and I can’t wait to see you soon! 6 months will be here before you know it! 😀
Smiles,
Kayla F

Hollis and the End of Summer

This post is definitely an oldie…but a goodie! Its so old (taken back in July…I know) that when I met up with the Moore family during the fall mini session, I realized that it had already been 3 months since I had taken Hollis’ pictures! Omgsh!!! This summer (and fall for that matter) just absolutely FLEW by! Geez! So with that in mind, I thought why not bid a final farewell to summer and welcome fall and very soon winter! 😀
Here is Hollis, back when he was a wee 9 months old!
I was SO excited when Kate emailed me and inquired about a session. I absolutely LOVE Kate and her family for many reasons! Not only is she the creator of my awesome logo, but she also created mine and Robby’s Save-the-Date and will be doing our invitation suite for the big day!!! I cannot say enough great things about Kate! She also just so happens to have the cutest two boys ever!!! You’ll see more of Finn tomorrow when I share their awesome Fall Session and Hollis’ One Year pictures!!
I loved Kate’s idea for Hollis’ pictures! For the first location we literally walked out into their side yard and sat Hollis in the grass…you don’t need very much to make this little guy cute!
I cannot get over his expression. This is it…he literally gave me this expression all morning!!
When I asked Kate what she had in mind for Hollis, she knew exactly what she wanted. She said he loves the water, especially taking a bath, and she thinks getting him in the pool would be so much fun! I couldn’t agree more! I LOVE out of the box session! Me in my bathing suit, with my camera in the water is definitely out of the box! 😀
Someone’s momma is not very nice and decided to splash him. Luckily, Hollis is a total trooper and got back to giggling in no time!
LOVE his shirt! Teehee!
One of my favs!!!!!
Such a ham!!! I love this little guy! You’ll get to see him all dolled up tomorrow so stay tuned!

Jack’s UT Session

What better way to celebrate UT’s first home football game than with the littlest Volunteer fan?? Jack and his parents are AWESOME Volunteer fans! And coincidentally, Jack’s birthday will probably always fall on the first football weekend for UT! Coincidence?? Maybe…or maybe Carla and Tony planned it that way! 🙂 Jack may be a future football star or maybe just a future VOLUNTEER, but either way, I know UT will have a big place in his life!
I absolutely love any chance I get to see this incredibly adorable family! So when I tossed the idea of a stadium session, I was so happy they jumped on board! Our goal was to be in the stadium, up in the seats, but we have come to find out that is a hit or miss with Neyland Stadium. Next time, we will make it happen! BUT who else can say they have had their pics in the halls of Neyland?? We were so stoked to get out of the crazy East TN heat for a few minutes and chow down on some cheerios!
And since it is the first home TN game for the 2012-2013 season, lets hear a resounding GBO!!
  How perfect is this picture??
Love love this family!!!
If you are interested in a session down on campus, make sure to book soon for the amazing fall colors! I would LOVE to do a session right in the middle of a BIG UT Home game…can’t you imagine? An adorable couple kissing in the crazy crowd of tail-gating UT Fan’s????

Little Miss Aidyn

Its crazy to think that I took Aidyn’s newborn pics 1 year ago!!! Its amazing how time flies AND how I’m able to see these adorable kiddos grow up through my camera! I love taking pictures at places that mean something to the family, and we took these photos at Aidyn’s aunt’s house! She’s absolutely ADORABLE in that straw hat and with her big ole’ pink elephant!
My absolute FAVORITE shot from this session! I can’t get enough of it!

Sebby’s Clan

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their lazy Monday. I love spending the day in my jammers with Diesel in my lap snoozing and editing/blogging/trying to create my website! So on with the blogging!
Mr. Sebby is making yet another appearance on the ole’ blog! I will continue to fall more and more in love with this little kiddo everytime I see him! He’s such a happy little guy and literally is so much fun in front of the camera. He’s turning one in just a few more days and I can’t believe it! So here’s Mr. Sebby, taking his first steps in front of the camera (with a little bit of help of course).

Photobucket

Everyone always says that Sebby looks like Raimund, and I totally agree. But in this next series, I can’t help but see all the similarities Sebby has with Lei. So sweet!
